I still think February is a possibility but April is more likely as CPT finals are probably going to be around Feb-March this year. That, in turn, means a lot of the early year tournaments will lose out on some Capcom sponsorship money and prize pot bonuses which may damage some relationships with those independent tourneys. If they pushed the release date to say August for EVO then the entire marketing strategy would have to change between then and now since they'd have only 2-4 blocks of characters left to fill 8 months.ĬPT would also have to change drastically as a marketing tool because now you either need to delay and compose an entirely new tournament schedule. There are 7 characters left out of 18 and we've gotten a minimum of 2 characters at a time (Luke & Ryu / Chun, Jaime, & Guile/ Kimberly & Juri / Ken, Dhalsim, Honda, & Blanka). It doesn't say anything about SFVI directly so the release date may just be either undecided or closely after March.Ī mid to late 2023 looks very unlikely given how they've been marketing the game. The report doesn't really mention anything directly and make only a slight reference to RE4R.
